Wagging tail costs Largo dear. Report by Howard Coates

After a long journey down to St Boswells, 10 man Largo took to the field. Excellent bowling from Scott and Mowat saw the hosts slump to 11/3. Further wickets fell at regular intervals and the hosts were 74/7 just before drinks. St Boswells then had two thirty run partnerships which with hind sight cost Largo the match. St Boswells were eventually all out for 149. Scott, Mowat and Anderson took 3 wickets a piece with captain Rintoul taking the other.

Accurate bowling and a variable pitch cost Largo dearly. Warrender and Mowat opened and early wickets fell with Mowat bowled for 2. Baddeley came in and a good partnership looked on before Warrender holed out for 8. Largo were finding runs hard to score on the pitch, Anderson and Baddeley took the score on to 53 before Anderson was bowled by S Broom for 7. Sneddon joined Baddeley and sweeping well, made 9 before being run out attempting a suicidal run. Runs were needed quickly, Baddeley (39) and then Rintoul (2) perished going for big hits. Scott, Coates, and Filsell tried to get the score going and all fell cheaply. Gillan was not out at the end.
