On Saturday Largo welcomed Falkand 2nds to East Drive.

On Saturday Largo welcomed Falkand 2nds to East Drive. On a damp cold day Largo captain A Warrender lost the toss and Largo were put in to bat. They were soon in trouble with Coates (2), F Khan (1) and Anderson (2) all out quickly. This brought A Brown to the wicket and he with A Warrender built a partnership until A Warrender was caught off the bowling of Sc Meikle. H Gillin and A Brown soon kick started the innings however, scoring runs freely until Gillin was caught on 21.
Things got worse as I Brown (3) and M Khan (5) were dismissed in quick succession leaving the score on 87 for 7. With things not looking good Sneddon joined A Brown and as with other weeks the lower order batting rescued the Largo innings with Sneddon scoring a fine 30 and A Brown finishing on a 1st XI personal best 70. S Warrender was out for 7 and B Gillin 0 not out meaning the home side finished the innings on 178 with Sc Meikle 3 for 43 and Watson 2 for 16 the pick of the bowlers for Falkland.
Largo knew they had to bowl well if they were to defend the total and got off to a great start as A Brown had opener Morris out for 0. With F Khan bowling very well at the other end the Falkland batsmen struggled and soon the visitors were in trouble as quick wickets fell leaving the score at 25 for 4. Anderson was then brought into the attack and got the breakthrough immediately getting St Meikle stumped by A Warrender for 24. Wickets kept falling from the sustained pressure from good bowling and fielding with the Falkland batsmen finding it hard to score runs. Eventually Falkland were all out for 43, Anderson 4 for 8 ; F Khan 3 for 14 and A Brown 2 for 16 all bowling outstandingly well in what was a great team performance. The 1st look to keep the winning momentum going next week as they take on Fauldhouse away.
