Sunday's fun at the Largo "Sixes" perhaps helped dispel the gloom of the 1st XI who went down to a defeat at East Drive at the hands of Clackmannan the previous day. In murky conditions and with a damp wicket favouring bowling winning the toss was crucial. Largo lost the toss and were asked to bat. Wise old heads predicted win the toss - win the match.
Despite the predicted difficulties Largo scored a very creditable 169 for 8 with Warrender, Brown , Rajagopal and Anderson all getting into the 30s.
The improving weather conditions and a drying pitch no doubt helped the Clackmannan batsmen but the Largo bowlers didn't help themselves with some poor bowling which gave the batsman a loose ball every over. In the early stages Clackmannan raced along at 5 runs/over. Although Robertson eventually achieved a breakthrough taking 4 wickets including 3 in a 2 overs Largo seemed to lose their way and Jhangir(56no) and Priddle(60no) took the visitors to a comfortable win,
A disappointing finish to what has generally been a good season where matches have been competitive possibly apart from those against Gale and Edinburgh - clear promotion candidates from early in the season. A 4th. place finish is a good one to build on for next season.
