Off the back of 2 home wins, Largo welcomed 2nd place Kinloch to East Drive looking to continue this run of good form. Home captain Hughes Gillin won the toss and asked the visitors to bowl first on another hot and humid day in Upper Largo.

Largo opened with Warrender and Cusick, with the pair starting steadily looking to build a platform against some tight opening bowling from the Dundee side. They moved to 43 before a double blow as Cusick (15) and Dom Coates (0) were both caught behind defending against Shafi. Gillin joined Warrender though and began to push the scoring rate up as they approached drinks.

As Largo went past 100 with 15 overs to go though again a cluster of wickets fell as both set batters in Warrender (42) and Gillin (29) were dismissed by Abdullah before a mix up meant last weeks batting star Kriskinans was run out for a duck. Das and Brown though would not let this stop the momentum of the innings as they put on a quick fire 56 for the 6th wicket before Shafi returned to dismiss Brown stumped for 24. Ben Coates (29) joined Das though at the fall of this wicket and showed what he can do late in the innings with 3 big sixes helping Largo past the 200 mark.

Ahmed would return to again take 3 quick wickets including Das for a top score 49, but this was not before Largo had moved to 221 off their 45 overs, a good score after a well-paced innings again from the Largo side.

In reply Largo were looking to continue their run of taking early wickets, and they did with Rowley again staring with the ball taking 3/10 off his 9 overs and with Cusick also clean bowling Khan for 2 the Kinloch side were reduced to 28/4. U.Ahmed and Amin though would show why the visitors have been so successful this year as they rallied to put on a stand of 92 for the 5th wicket and put the change bowlers of Largo under real pressure.

Gillin however would get the reward his spell deserved as he made the breakthrough to dismiss Ahmed caught behind by Warrender for 47 before Brown would get the big wicket of Shafi caught on the boundary for a quick fire 20, just after he had looked to be accelerating the visitors quickly towards the target. From this point Largo were favourites and took control as such. Brown continued to steam in and was able to take 3 of the final 4 wickets, meaning that along with a run out, the Kinloch side were all out for 177 and a 44 run win for Largo.

This was an important and impressive win for Largo against a side doing so well in the league this year and firmly puts them in position going in to August to look to continue to move up the Division 1 table away from the relegation places. The 1st XI have a well deserved rest week next week and return the week after again at home to Falkland 2nds.
