The first of Fife's series of kwikcricket tournaments got underway at East Drive on Sunday May 20th. Youngsters from Dunnikier, Falkland, Glenrothes and Largo played in a "round robin" tournament where enjoying playing and having fun was the focus rather than winning or losing. For all of the coaches it was rewarding to see the number of parents, brothers, sisters, grannies and granpas who came along to support their youngster, As was pointed out on Sunday without parental support there would be no junior cricket - players need transport to matches - what's the point of going along to training if you can't play matches?
Largo had a squad of twelve with all playing in at least two of the 8/aside matches. While not important in the scheme of things Largo won 2 of their 3 matches just narrowly losing the 3rd.match.
Squad:- Alfie, Ance, Charlie, Emerson, Finn, Fletcher, Hassan, Katie, Lochie, Marko, B, Rory, Struan
The next tournament is at Falkland on Sunday May 27th with Largo hoping to field a team.
All junior cricket training sessions are on Friday evenings at East Drive starting at 6.15pm - currently we cater for all age groups from P1 to S5.
