Convincing win for the 2s secures survival

Looking to get the win that would confirm division 5 survival for another year, Largo 2s welcomed Tranent & Preston Village 2nd XI. Captain for the day Chris Baddeley won the toss and chose to field first.

Opening with Louis Baddeley and Aidan Brown it immediately looked a good toss to win with both taking wickets early with especially Louis continuing his incredible strike rate this year in the league with 3 wickets. c the openers had finished their spells resistance was met by the partnership of Booker and especially Tom who was finding scoring easier than the rest of his side. Eventually both would be removed by Largo veteran Lister, Tom making 35 but when Nat Forno removed McIntosh for 1 caught by captain Baddeley the visitors were all out for 67 in 16.2 overs.

With a small total to chase Largo opened with Coates and Kinnear who made 6 and 11 respectively before being removed by the batting star from before Tom who completed a good all around performance with figures of 2 for 8 off 6 overs. However with Robinson and Allen at the crease Largo chased down the runs in 17 overs to win by 8 wickets, Robinson scoring 28 NO.

This was a comprehensive win for the 2nds who took advantage of the weakened opposition, and they will hope to finished strong with the final away game this weekend against Livingston.
