Rain the winner as 1sts play our a Tie

On one of the more lengthy away trips Largo has this year, the 1st XI travelled to Fauldhouse hoping to avoid the forecast thunderstorms across the area. With the possibility of a rain affected game Rintoul when he won the toss decided to bowl first.

Opening with Largo debutant Chris Harney and Brent Bentley the scoring was kept to a minimum and with a long outfield it was only Connell for the opposition who was keeping the score board ticking over. Harney bowling through finished his spell of 8 over unlucky to not get a wicket for 20 runs and it was the introduction of Gillin who made the break through bowling Abey for a duck and then also getting Ahmed LBW for 15.

With the score on 80 a change of ends for Rintoul brought the wicket of Connell for a big hitting 42 well caught by Bentley, and with it a steady stream of wickets. Rintoul and Anderson taking pace off the ball and a couple of late run outs meant that only McDonald reached double figures from then leaving the home side all out for 133, Rintoul with 3 wickets but a good all around performance from Largo.

A rain shower delayed the start of the Largo innings with usual opening partnership Warrander and Rintoul together for the first time this season. After giving a few chances Rintoul was the first to go for 14, quickly followed by the in form Robertson run out by a direct hit for 2. The game from here however changed with the weather setting in and the need to check for the position in comparison to the D/L method.

Warrander and Naveen Kumar were together nearing the 20 overs required for a game to finish and with a few big hits resulting in Largo looking just ahead Kumar was bowled and with the score at 55-3 at 20 overs the game could have gone either way. Ultimately though when the rain came and set in for the day after a few quick calculations and checking of the score books with Largo on 66/3 off 21 overs both teams were tied on the DL method when the teams shook hands meaning a split of the points.

A slightly disappointing result for the Largo side in the end with the team confident that should the game gone to the end that they would have come out on top however with a run of 4 out of the next 5 gamers at home the Largo side will hope for a run of good performances to come.
