Largo in comfortable win.

It was a one-sided affair at East Drive when Largo beat Penicuik by 10 wickets.

In a game sponsored by Innes Johnston & Co Leven, Captain Smith won the toss and asked the team from across the water to have first bat. It was evident from the beginning there was only going to be one winner when Sharif rattled the middle stump of opener Adams with the score on zero. Penicuiks batsmen could not show any resistance and with nobody reaching double figures posted a total of 48 all out from 29 overs. Sharif was his normal accurate self and took 2 wickets  for the loss of 7 runs, Chris Barclay will bowl worse this season and take a wicket, part time bowler Asman Ali helped himself to 3 wickets and Smith cleared the tail with 5 for 9.

Sharif was in no mood to be lenient with the Penicuik bowlers and in precisely 5 overs he, with a little help from Craig Walker, rattled up the 49 needed for the 25 points and the game was completed by 3.30pm.

It was unfortunate this was not a good work out for the Largo boys as the face much stiffer opposition next week when they travel the short distance to Falkland in the league on Saturday and on the Sunday play Victoria at home in the second round of the Small Clubs cup. This of course is a repeat of the semi final two years ago and the same result will be the expected by Captain Smith.
