Bon Accord V Largo

Largo defied the odds on Sunday with an excellent victory at Bon Accord of Aberdeen in the Small Clubs Cup. The hosts batted first and lost a wicket with no runs on the board. There followed a stand of 97 between Meres and Mirza. Once this stand was broken wickets fell regularly to a mixture of top bowling from Stuart Ritchie and loose batting by the overconfident Aberdonians. The eventual total of 156 all out was very attainable and so it proved.

Again Walker and Mowat gave the Local side an excellent platform with an opening stand of 61.This gave the East Drive men the confidence to forge on to victory. The hosts fought all the way and it took a brilliant half century from Rodden to secure in the end a comfortable and well deserved victory.
