Largo returned to winning ways on Saturday with a convincing victory against
Corstorphine 2 in Edinburgh. With match ball sponsorship from Dryburgh
Associates, Civil & Structural Engineers Kennoway, Captain Mowat won the
toss and had no hesitation in putting the hosts into bat.
Largo struck early with Rodden having Moffat bowled with only 4 on the board.
Largo aided by tight bowling and tight fielding were always in complete control
of proceedings. Only an innings of 26 from the home side captain was noteworthy.
Barclay and Ritchie returned outstanding bowling performances for the local men
with 4 for 26 and 3 for 24 respectively as the home side posted a total of 79
all out.
In response Largo lost Walker with 33 on the board and Mowat followed soon
after. Andrew Donaldson arrived at the crease and soon put any visitors nerves
at ease with a quality innings of attacking strokes. His 46 not out consisted 9
fours and was a delight to watch. His innings enabled Largo to romp home with 81
for 3 and a full 42 overs to spare.
