Largo got back to winning ways with a convincing defeat of Stirling county 3rds by 8 wickets.

Mowat won the toss and asked the visitors to bat. They made a steady if not unspectacular start with Fuller and MacGowan waiting on the loose delivery before playing shots. This strategy led to a slow run rate which Stirling never really picked up, scoring on average of 2.5 runs per over. The attempt to raise the run rate caused the inevitable fall of wickets, but Stirling kept going and finished on 127 for 7 after 50 overs. All the Largo bowlers took wickets with Mowat his usual impressive self and the youngster Barclay bowling with good pace.

127 is a modest total to defend at Largo and Stirling found the job hard going especially with the number of poor deliveries they bowled. Even the early lose of Cook did not stop the Largo team from powering home to victory with Walker and Mowat finding the gaps to the boundary. Walker in particular was showing why he is the leagues top batsman as he passed 50 in superlative fashion. With four runs to win Mowat was caught for 41, which left Walker to smash another boundary to seal victory and finish unbeaten on 87.

A fine performance against the team who were sitting top of the table before the game began. Next week Largo travel to Edinburgh to face Trinity.
