In a game sponsored by Marco Licenced Grocers Methil,Largo lost their 3^rd successive match when they travelled to play Stirling County 3rds.

Asked to bat on a wicket that had taken heavy overnight rain, Largo found it hard going with their top three batsmen all failing to score over ten.  Mowat and Kinnear repaired the damage with a combination of attacking shots and good running between the wickets before Kinnear was caught on 18. Mowat took the attack to the home side bowling and was unlucky to fall two runs short of a well-deserved 50. The tail briefly wagged with Duncan pitching in with a solid 16, but the innings was completed in the 50^th over as Largo were bowled out for 133.

Stirling started positively with McGowan playing a number of drives to the cover boundary. The rain by this state was falling constantly, which made the Largo fielding and bowling difficult. Although Largo were taking wickets they could not get rid of the danger man McGowan and he passed his 50 with another cracking drive. He eventually fell on 69 with the game all but won for the home side and it was left to Stirling’s captain to hit the winning runs.

Next week Largo entertain Trinty in a game they must win to keep their dwindling promotion hopes alive.
