The Largo Cricket Club - About Us

The Largo Cricket Ground, situated on East Drive in Upper Largo, has magnificent views across the Firth of Forth and to Largo Law.  The ground has excellent natural drainage and the wicket is renowned for producing plenty of runs for batsmen, whilst typical of Scottish pitches, it provides enough assistance for bowlers as well.

The 1st XI compete in the East of Scotland Cricket Association Division 2 and the 2nd XI compete in Division 5.  The Sunday XI play in the Strathmore & Perthshire Cricket Union Recreational Division 2. The club also plays in a range of social friendlies and mid-week evening matches against teams from Fife and beyond.  Largo CC was successful in 2002 in the Small Clubs Cup and winners of the Fife Cup in 2010. The club offers opportunity for players of all abilities from beginners to seasoned cricketers and stakes claim to some of the best afternoon teas in Fife.

A large Junior contingent train weekly and compete in matches throughout the winter and summer months.  Regular summer training for Juniors is on a Friday night with midweek and weekend games on selected dates.  The Juniors were awarded the 'Cricket Scotland Club of the Year' in 2011 and have strong support from family and club members who assist in various roles including coaching.

Largo CC has a proud history of developing Junior Cricketers who have progressed to a higher level including current Scottish International player Safyaan Sharif and Ryan Brown who played a pivotal role in Heriots CC 2017 CSL Eastern Premier League win.

Throughout the year a wide range of social offerings take place including a Beach Cricket Festival, Annual Dinner, BBQ’s and the infamous 'Tour' which in 2018 will see the players travel to West London in September for some quality cricket. At the end of a game our players can be found at the Railway Inn celebrating, commiserating or telling hard luck stories from the day's play...

New players are welcome any time of the year and please contact us should you wish to join the club and play or support cricket!
