Largo win closely contested final.

On Friday evening Largo CC's junior cricketers proved that cricket is not just a summer sport when they won Fife Junior Cricket Association's inaugural Indoor Championship. The Largo youngsters proved the worth of their regular winter indoor training sessions which the club has run for many years not only to raise skill levels but to sustain the youngsters enthusiasm for the "summer game".

The Largo squad captained by Ben Michie pulled off a fine win in a closely contested finals play-off against a strong Dunfermline & Carnegie side. While all of the squad made significant contributions to the win it was Tristan Bleak's fiercely dispatched 21 at a crucial point in the match which turned things Largo's way. Falkland and Glenrothes met in the 3rd/4th place match. The enthusiasm of the players (and supporters) for this quickfire sixes format of cricket suggests that the Fife Junior Cricket Association and head coach Steve Rowley are on to a winner. Hopes are high that the programme can be expanded next winter.

The Largo CC youngsters continue with their Friday evening indoor sessions at the Madras Games Hall St.Andrews until March 17th.while the senior players start their indoor "nets" at the Levenmouth Sports Centre on Sunday March 19th 3.00pm - 5.00pm.
